ACCESSORY DWELLING UNITS (“ADUs”)
Due to recent changes in State Legislation, Californians now have the ability to build a separate, rentable dwelling unit on their property as an Accessory Dwelling Unit. ADUs have many names (i.e. multigenerational, in-laws, secondary dwellings, etc.), they come in several primary forms (internal or detached conversions, additions, new construction, etc.), and they can serve multiple functions (rental or retirement income, family expansion or consolidation, lifestyle changes, etc.). In a sentence, ADUs are a flexible and viable option for any property owner seeking to maximize the equity, income, and utility of their most valuable asset.

Why ADUs?
Accessory Dwelling Units are the most effective way to upgrade your lifestyle and secure your legacy.
ADUs built within the footprint of existing structures offer substantial savings during development in terms of time, money, land, and resources. Once completed, ADUs increase the overall value of the property because they are capable of providing reliable, passive, and long-term income. And with the proper planning and design, ADUs can help multigenerational families with managing the costs of housing, childcare, and healthcare.
